Freedom Is Not Free

Monday, November 28, 2005, 7:30 p.m. – Danville Museum

Speaker Davis E. Newman, a Korean War veteran and member of the Danville Veterans Memorial Committee, is spearheading the erection of the Veteran's Memorial Wall at Dan Daniel Park (shown under construction below).  His informative program, candidly presented, reveals the challenges of building this monument to the veterans of Danville and Pittsylvania County who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Mr. Newman will have interesting stories about some of the soldiers who names will appear on the memorial wall, and will share breaking news regarding a new facet of the memorial's erection.

Jointly sponsored by the Danville Historical Society and the Danville Museum Guild, this program will be held in the auditorium of the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History at 975 Main Street.
