Description: |
In 1988, the newspaper publisher E. Stuart James Grant saved the Langhorne House from being leveled for a parking lot. In its new role as a museum, the Langhorne House celebrates the lives of the Langhornes—especially Nancy Langhorne, Viscountess Astor, the first woman to sit in the British Parliament, and Irene Langhorne Gibson, inspiration for the “Gibson Girl,” fashion ideal of turn-of-the-2Oth-century America. |
